The Greatest Cover Of All Time

You voted in your thousands and now we can reveal the greatest cover versions of all time.

Perhaps it is not the greatest surprise to announce that JIMI HENDRIX'S cover of Bob Dylan's ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER landed in the top spot of this particular poll.

The Hendrix Experience's 1968 version of Dylan's '67 song is, frankly, the definitive version of the record, transforming it from a fairly standard folk-rock strum into a a multi-layered rock behemoth that practically belongs to Hendrix even more than it does Dylan. That Hendrix and his Experience took several months to complete it says a lot about how much this meant to the guitarist.

And so, with a whopping 33% of all of the votes, Jimi Hendrix and his startling reimagining of All Along The Watchtower is the Greatest Cover Of All Time.

What about Enter the sandman. It's no contest, Motorhead is far, far brtter than Metallica. But, 99 times out of 100 you play metallica's weaker version. Lemmy's vocac's, the general instremental playing of Motorhead is so deeper and more powerful. Please give motorhead more credit, more air play of this song..
